Any RNG with a period 2**32 that can output every 32-bit value at least once must have zero collisions for the first 2**32 outputs, but we would expect to see about 100 collisions after just 200k outputs.
There are a lot more straightforward implementations of "shuffle this list of things" than "craft an RNG that doesn't repeat so that your can get the index of each song one at a time".
I've never understood why so many people like to cite that as an example of "not wanting true randomness", when it seems like people do want true randomness, just as an ordered set rather than "pick a random song from scratch each time".
Assuming the heating element has a positive temperature coefficient (which seems likely), there will be inrush current greater than the operating current.
As an extreme example, a tungsten filament in a lightbulb would rise to 1500C (2700F) which with even a small temperature coefficient can mean inrush current 10x higher than the operating current.
After trying Duolingo a bit myself and seeing my family members try it, I've become convinced that Duolingo is worse than doing nothing, because it does a much better job of convincing you that you're learning than it does actually teaching you.
Be aware that Xteink is locking down devices sold for the Chinese market (which includes those being sold on e.g. Taobao). If you want to run crosspoint, you should probably order your reader direct from Xteink.
Whoa that's a surprise. They even call out support for CrossPoint by name, too.
Moreover, it's a bit of a crazy looking hack too, by doing a MITM attack.
I'm curious to see what exactly is the seam between the Xteink brand and its upstream supplier(s).
It's like the brand company was against the firmware lockdown in the first place. It would be neat to better understand the Chinese consumer devices ecosystem.
Using an asset as debt-collateral triggering gains being realized would be good too. As would unifying the income and capital gains tax.
I disagree with TFA's idea that a wealth tax is the best solution. IMO wealth is easier to hide than income, it's just that nobody bothers right now with there being no wealth tax.
And even when they work with non-chrome browsers if you run into an issue, you won't be able to get it escalated without trying with chrome (or lying and saying you did, I suppose).
